My name is Fares Abu Obayed. I am a resident of Laqiya in the Negev, married +6, holder of a master's degree in education. Former teacher and educator. Social activist and one of the founders of the Negev Cultural Association in the 1980s, which led to the recognition of my home town in the early 1990s.

Secretary of the Arab Democratic Party in the Negev until 2009.

From 2006 to the present, working with the Bimkom Association - Planners for Planning Rights, which led to the recognition of unrecognized villages in the Negev. Through my contributions to the advancement of the Bedouin community, I developed relations of mutual respect with the population and became a well-known figure who, along with others, led the struggle against the Prawer Plan.

I am active in the field of informal education, working with young people to develop future leaders.

I believe in a shared life built on mutual equality; only joint Jewish-Arab leadership can bring general peace both within the state and throughout the entire region.
