About the Event
Come hear and talk with Amir Fakhuri, a jurist and political and cultural sociologist who specializes in the study of Palestinian politics in Israel, Palestinian Jewish relations in Israel and the joint society in Israel. Dr. Amir Fakhuri is a postdoctoral fellow at the Polonsky Academy at the Van Leer Institute in Jerusalem. He is a jurist and a political and cultural sociologist, with a bachelor's degree in law from the Hebrew University and a master's degree in peace studies and conflict resolution from the University of Haifa.
At the Van Leer Institute, Amir is co-director of the Nissan project for research into joint societies, which aims to establish joint society research as a field of study. Amir also serves as co-director of the think tank 'Peace Based on Partnership' which focuses on the development and refinement of the national partnership paradigm between the sea and the river.
In civil society, Amir is one of the leaders of the 'Peace based on partnership' movement, a member of the Accord advisory board, a consultant to joint society organizations and the former director of the community of human rights lawyers at the Peace School in Neve Shalom and of its research unit.
