Ending the deal between Israel and Hamas without initiating political negotiations for peace poses a danger of renewed war in the near future. Only a comprehensive political solution achieved through peace negotiations can bring lasting calm and prosperity and prevent a return to wars and bloodshed in the near future.
The deal currently being formulated, which we all hope will be genuine and will lead to the return of the hostages and the end of the current war, must be the first step in a true, historic peace process with the Palestinian people. Negotiations with the Palestinian people must be conducted through their legitimate representative, the Palestinian Authority. It is the only entity recognized by all countries in the world, including Israel, Europe, the United Nations, and the United States. Israel's prolonged disregard for this fact has led us to the catastrophic situation of recent years. This disregard has provided the backing that strengthened organizations like Hamas, allowing them to grow and thrive, nurtured by Netanyahu, in the hope that they would serve as an alternative to the Authority.
This fact cannot be ignored, nor can it be claimed that there is no Palestinian partner. There is a Palestinian partner, and negotiations for a comprehensive peace must be conducted with them, addressing the future of Gaza and the West Bank, which Israel still controls. Without this, the State of Israel will invite the emergence of a new Hamas and more October 7-type events.
Enough with the endless cycle of wars and bloodshed!
Only a comprehensive peace agreement with the Palestinian people will bring security to the entire region!
