Emergency call - We must unite all liberal forces before the Kaddish prayer for democracy!

The Knesset approved this morning one of the core laws of the legal revolution: changing the composition of the committee for selecting judges.

Despite the small change made to the original wording of the law, the law still leaves the coalition with the option to control the selection of judges without the intervention or influence of the Supreme Court, thus making the process a distinctly political one.

This pressure is not only intended to contribute to Netanyahu's survival, but much more than that.

Here is what the Minister of Justice, the minister who is supposed to protect justice and democracy in the country, said last Sunday: "Arabs are buying apartments in Jewish communities in the Galilee, and this is causing Jews to leave these cities, because they are not willing to live with Arabs."

"We need to ensure that the Supreme Court has judges who understand this."

The remarks were made during a government meeting discussing the Otzma Yehudit bill that would make Zionism a guiding value for government policy and actions. These developments pave the way not only for a state that implements racism in law, but also pave the way for legal legitimization of fascism.

We need to fight against this dangerous situation, and this requires a joint struggle, Jewish-Arab, and the unification of all democratic forces against this dangerous move.
